In plain English: In Cherokee County, fewer homes went under contract in September than a year earlier, and more homes were for sale. Across Woodstock city and ZIPs 30188 and 30189, median sale prices moved differently than the county median, and days on market ranged from about 5.5 to 8 weeks.

What makes Woodstock different

Woodstock pairs a walkable downtown with a growing trail network. Main Street has local restaurants, shops and the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village, and the city's Greenprints trail system, including the Noonday Creek Trail, links parks and neighborhoods. Towne Lake's established communities sit on the south side, Lake Allatoona is a short drive west, and I-575 runs north–south through town toward Canton and Kennesaw.

How to read these numbers

A median is the middle sale, so it moves with the mix of homes that sold, not just with values. Monthly sales counts here range from 146 to 294, so a few unusually large or small sales can move the median and the year-over-year change noticeably from one month to the next. Treat single-month swings with care. Sale and listing figures come from different sources and cover slightly different areas, so they won't line up exactly. Your own home's value depends on its condition, updates, lot and street, which an area-wide number can't show.

Curious how your home's condition stacks up? Try our free Home Report Card, a walkthrough where you grade your home's condition from A to F, room by room. (It's a condition check, not a valuation.)
